Benign Breast Lump Removal
Surgical removal of fibroadenomas, cysts and benign breast nodules.
"Removal of benign breast lesions — fibroadenomas, cysts and nodules — is performed when they grow, become painful, or when histological confirmation is needed. Plastic surgeon Maruf Muradovich performs the operation with the aesthetic outcome in mind: the approach is planned so the scar remains minimally visible and breast shape is preserved. Removed tissue is sent for histological examination."
Your journey
Diagnosis
Ultrasound and clinical examination to determine the lump type, size, and location.
Planning
Incision placement chosen to minimise visible scarring — periareolar or inframammary.
Removal
Lump excised cleanly with surrounding margin. Specimen sent for histology.
Closure
Intradermal sutures for a fine scar. Compression dressing applied.
Recovery
Most patients return to normal activities within 1–2 weeks.
Rehabilitation
Outpatient
Surgery on the day of the visit. Compression dressing.
At home
Light regimen. Avoid lifting heavy objects.
Suture removal
Sutures removed. Histology result is ready.
Normal
Full return to active life.
Scar
The scar is almost invisible.
Scar progression
How the scar changes — from surgery to final result
Scars are placed within natural skin folds and become virtually unnoticeable over time. Proper care and sun protection speed up the fading process. For most patients, the scar blends with the surrounding skin within 12–18 months.
Suture removal
The scar is pink-red and slightly raised. Scar care begins — silicone gel or tape.
Active healing
Colour darkens to deep pink. The scar may thicken — this is normal. Avoid sun exposure and wear compression garments.
Maturation
The scar lightens, softens, and flattens. Itching and heightened sensitivity fade.
Final appearance
The scar takes on a silvery-beige tone and becomes barely visible, aligning with underwear lines.
