Breast Reduction
Reducing breast volume with simultaneous lift and reshaping.
"Breast reduction decreases breast volume while lifting and reshaping the breast into better proportion. It is indicated when breast weight causes back and neck pain, skin irritation beneath the breast, or limits physical activity. Plastic surgeon Maruf Muradovich determines the amount of tissue removed individually, preserving blood supply and nipple sensitivity."
Your journey
Consultation
Assessment of breast weight, ptosis, skin quality, and your symptoms. Discussion of surgical technique and expected scar pattern.
Marking
Precise pre-operative markings made while standing. New nipple position and resection pattern mapped.
Tissue Removal
Excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin removed. Nipple-areola complex repositioned on a vascular pedicle.
Reshaping
Remaining breast tissue sculpted and secured for a round, lifted appearance. Closure with fine sutures.
Recovery
Compression bra worn for 6 weeks. Pain well-managed with medication. Most return to work in 2 weeks.
Rehabilitation
Inpatient
Drains. Compression bra. Pain relief. Arm movement is restricted.
First days at home
Moderate soreness. Drains come out on day 2–3. Soft bra 24 hours a day.
Suture removal
Surgeon review and suture removal. Most return to light work.
Activity
Light physical activity. Bra wear continues. Back and neck pain resolve.
Final result
The breast settles into its final shape. Scars keep fading for a year.
Scar progression
How the scar changes — from surgery to final result
Scars are placed within natural skin folds and become virtually unnoticeable over time. Proper care and sun protection speed up the fading process. For most patients, the scar blends with the surrounding skin within 12–18 months.
Suture removal
The scar is pink-red and slightly raised. Scar care begins — silicone gel or tape.
Active healing
Colour darkens to deep pink. The scar may thicken — this is normal. Avoid sun exposure and wear compression garments.
Maturation
The scar lightens, softens, and flattens. Itching and heightened sensitivity fade.
Final appearance
The scar takes on a silvery-beige tone and becomes barely visible, aligning with underwear lines.
